DearSanta is the trading name under which this site operates. By using DearSanta you agree to these terms. If you disagree with any part of them, please don't use the service.

Who can use DearSanta

To create an account as an Administrator or a Helper, you must be at least 18 years old. Children never create an account or access the service directly: all the information in the letter to Santa is entered by the responsible adult on their behalf.

What the service is

DearSanta offers two features: organising secret santa draws (invitations, sign-up, automatic draw, messages between participants) and creating a letter to Santa that can be shared with the family.

Price

DearSanta is free today. We reserve the right to introduce paid plans in the future, with prior notice. None of this commits you to any payment while you use the service in its current free form.

The content you upload

The text you write (gift ideas, messages, the letter to Santa) remains yours. By using it within DearSanta, you grant us the licence needed to store and display it to the relevant people, solely so the service can work.

Acceptable use

You may not use DearSanta to upload content that is illegal, abusive, threatening, or that infringes the rights of others. If you see inappropriate content in a group or a letter, write to us at admin@dearsanta.nz and we'll review it.

Purchases from external stores

When you click on a suggested product, you leave DearSanta for the corresponding store (Farmers, The Warehouse, MightyApe, or others). We don't process any payment or send your data to those stores: the purchase is exclusively between you and the store. We're not responsible for the price, quality, shipping, or any other aspect of that purchase.

Deleting your account or your data

You can delete a specific child's letter directly from the app. To delete your entire account or a whole group, write to us at admin@dearsanta.nz and we'll handle it manually. We reserve the right to suspend or close access for any account that breaches these terms.

Service availability

DearSanta is provided "as is". As a free service still in development, we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability or the absence of errors, and we're not liable for any damages arising from a service interruption.

Our property

The DearSanta name, its design, and the software that powers it belong to us. You may not copy it, reverse-engineer it, or use it to build a competing service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. If we make a significant change, we'll reflect it with the update date on this same page.
